Essential Data Engineering for Data Scientist

Organizing and getting value out of data – is one of the key drivers of IT industry development and it passes couple of momentous milestones which changed the way we interact with data: from invention of relational databases to massive parallel processing. Huge jump in storing and processing technologies brought an incredible ability to store and process massive amount of data, with a speed, velocity and variety like never before. But it also brings great responsibility and a shift in a mindset required in order to be using these capabilities effectively.
This panel is dedicated to Big Data Engineering: how to decide which technologies and tools to use, what is the difference between relational and non-relational data modeling and many other essential topics.

Unsupervised Anomaly Detection for Information Security

In today’s data driven world, Information Security attracts special attention when it comes to pattern changes detection. The continuous development and complexity of information processing automation presuppose the decisive role of security in information technology.
This panel will discuss practical scientific, software engineering and system design challenges in solving real world business problems, using scalable machine learning and data mining techniques. Towards this, SoftServe will present a case-study of designing and developing a large-scale system that identifies unusual user network behavior, based on the analysis of network activity logs. Our system is able to reveal indicative behavior patterns and draw conclusions about behavior that differs from what’s considered conventional. The solution is though self-adaptive, minimizing human involvement in configuring the system.

Internal GlobalLogic Data Processing Solutions

GlobalLogic has to to demonstrate two solutions: the first - extended functions of low cost sensors with data visualization over augmented reality for mobile devices. This solution is targeted for energy saving applications but can be easily extended and scaled for any system based on “dumb” sensors.
] The second one is to demonstrate an implementation of method for real-time creating of content driven tags for video and/or photo stream and method applicability for video content search engines.
